Company’s handiwork a beauty to behold
Thayer said his firm reupholsters and restores furniture, just like his grandfather, Edwin Thayer did when he started the company in 1955. But they also build a lot of furniture, especially French country furniture. A number of their pieces are included in Tulsa designer Charles Faudree's book "French Country Signature." Among the work they've done for Faudree were two custom headboards for the Los Angeles home of "Will and Grace" actor Leslie Jordan. They also have built two chaffeuse — which is similar to four round, armless upholstered chairs sitting back to back in a circle — that sit in the ballroom at Tulsa's Southern Hills Country Club. Their work also is among the fixtures at the exclusive Miss Jackson's, an upscale Tulsa women's clothing store. Greg Thayer and his brother, Jason Thayer, are the third generation of their family to work in the upholstery and furniture business.
